I join with the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, Kentucky in mourning the violent death of Sr. Paula Merrill, SCN.
I also extend my deepest sympathies to the School Sisters of St. Francis on the death of Sr. Margaret Held, SSSF.
Sr. Paula has spent the last 30 years ministering in Christ’s name to the poor and vulnerable as a nurse, and she and Sr. Margaret served together as nurse practitioners in central Mississippi.
They leave a legacy of dedication to their consecrated life and deep compassion for those they served. Please join me in praying for the repose of the souls of Sr. Paula and Sr. Margaret and for their families and religious communities. May they rest in peace.
