Office of the Archbishop
Purpose
To care for the overall spiritual, pastoral and temporal needs of the people of God in the archdiocese.
Archdiocesan Communications Office
Purpose
To promote a systemic approach to evangelization and to coordinate the communications ministries of the archdiocese, including the weekly newspaper The Record, which is sent to every Catholic household; radio and television ministries, especially on cable The Faith Channel; and public relations.
Archives
Purpose
To collect, preserve, and maintain the papers and artifacts of the archdiocese, her institutions, bishops/arch-bishops, priests, and deacons.
Catholic Campus Ministry
Purpose
To provide opportunities to support the faith development of the Catholic community of students at the University of Louisville.
Catholic Cemeteries
Purpose
To offer the rite of burial to the Catholic community and all of God’s people. Oversees the operations of Calvary, St. John, St. Louis, and St. Michael cemeteries in Louisville.
Catholic Charities of Louisville
Purpose
To provide service for people in need, advocate for justice in social structures, and call the entire church and other people of goodwill to do the same. Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Louisville is a member of Catholic Charities USA.
Office of Catholic Schools
Purpose
To serve and engage young people in response to the call of Jesus Christ to “teach all nations.” In partnership with families and parishes, we seek to form our students, and through them, transform our world in light of the Gospel message. Our diverse community of schools, each with its own unique history, spirit, and tradition, prepares our graduates to live their faith as maturing adults and provide Christian leadership for Church and society.
Office of Continuing Education for Priests and Lay Ecclesial Ministers
Purpose
To develop and promote continuing education, training opportunities, and professional development assessments for priests and lay ecclesial ministers and to coordinate sabbaticals and annual gatherings for priests.
Diaconate Office
Purpose
To promote the order of the Diaconate by disseminating pertinent information, selecting and training candidates, providing opportunities for continuing education, and coordinating the pastoral supervision of ordained permanent deacons. Provide support for the wives, widows and families of the deacons.
Office of Facilities Management
Purpose
To resource parishes on facility planning, maintenance and real estate.
Office of Faith Formation
Purpose
To teach Catholic beliefs, traditions and values as well as to provide ministerial support, formation and training in the context of deepening spirituality.
Family and Life Ministries Office
Purpose
Valuing the sacredness of marriage, family life and community, we resource, strengthen and celebrate families in all their diversity, life stages and transitions.
Finance Office
Purpose
To assist the Archbishop in the administration and supervision of the temporalities of the local church and its juridic persons.
Flaget Retreat Center
Purpose
To provide lodging, meals and conference space for retreats, meetings and days of prayer.
Office of Hispanic Ministry
Purpose
To provide opportunities to invite, engage, and strengthen the participation of the Hispanic/Latino community in the life of the local Church.
Office of Human Resources
Purpose
To administer policy and benefit information and to provide human resources assistance to agencies, parishes, and schools.
Maloney Center
Purpose
To provide office and meeting space for agencies of the Archdiocese of Louisville.
The Metropolitan Tribunal
Purpose
To assist the Archbishop in his pastoral office by resolving questions of justice, especially in regard to marriage, according to the laws and teaching of the Roman Catholic church.
Office of Mission Advancement
Purpose
To support Catholic parishes, schools, and agencies by promoting a theology of abundance, wherein God is the source of all blessings.
Office of Multicultural Ministry
Purpose
To give direction and leadership to the full and holistic development of our growing and diverse Catholic communities within the Archdiocese of Louisville.
Pastoral Center
Purpose
To provide office and meeting space for agencies of the Archdiocese of Louisville.
Office of Priest Personnel
Purpose
To assist the Archbishop in the appointment of priests and deacons to archdiocesan parishes, offices, institutions and other archdiocesan apostolates. To provide a consultative process with the priests, deacons and parishes regarding their appointments.
Vocation Office
Purpose
To call forth vocations to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Louisville by: (1) fostering a sense of religious vocation among the people of our Archdiocese through prayer, catechesis and support and (2) actively supporting men who are discerning a call to priesthood and providing adequate screening of candidates desiring to enter into formation for the diocesan priesthood.
Office of Worship
Purpose
To promote and enrich the liturgical life of the Archdiocese in a spirit of collaboration with parish leadership by providing liturgical direction, formation, and resources.
Office of Youth & Young Adults
Purpose
Provide training, support, formation, and networking opportunities among those who minister to, with, and for young people (adolescence through young adulthood).
