50th Anniversary of Humanae Vitae

This year we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Blessed Pope Paul VI’s encyclical, Humanae Vitae, which provides beautiful and clear teaching about God’s plan for married love and the transmission of life.  On May 6 of this year, I preached about this topic at the Cathedral and my homily, as well as other homilies from bishops across the country, has been shared by USCCB.  See the video below.

Catholic World Report Article on Religious Freedom

As Religious Freedom Week began last Friday, I have spoken to a variety of news outlets in my capacity as Chair of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee for Religious Liberty.

Here is a link to an article by Jim Graves of The Catholic World Report.  He asks some good questions about the topic of religious liberty and also reports on recent development in our Archdiocese.
