Foundation for Marriage: What To Expect
Your decision to marry may well be the most important decision of your life. The Church celebrates this exciting time with you and wishes to do our very best in preparing you for a lifetime together in marriage. With this in mind, the Foundation for Marriage preparation program was created to assist in this vital task.
Taught by various professionals in their respective areas, the Foundation for Marriage program is a one-day, 8-hour session held on selected Saturdays throughout the year in various locations around the Archdiocese.
This archdiocesan program spends significant time with engaged couples on the topics of “Marriage as a Sacrament”, “Intimacy, Children and Family Planning”, “Family of Origin”, “Financial Health and Planning”, and “Effective Communication”. A variety of learning styles are used in this program to assist couples in learning the many relevant concepts presented in an attempt to make real both the joys and challenges of married life that couples will face as they begin their new lives as one. (Mark 10: 8 “They are no longer two, but one flesh.”)
