Catholic High School Placement Test – December 14, 2019

November 4, 2019 (Louisville, Ky.)–Students in grade 8 who wish to attend a Catholic high school next year are required to take the Catholic high school placement test scheduled on Saturday, December 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

Students take the test at the Catholic high school they plan to attend, and students should bring two #2 pencils. The test is free of charge. Information about the location of Catholic high schools can be found at www.louisvillecatholicschools.com.

Archdiocese of Louisville Honors 3,505 Years of Teaching Service

October 30, 2019 (Louisville, Ky.)–On Wednesday, November 6, the Archdiocese of Louisville will honor 199 Catholic schoolteachers who have achieved a total of 3,505 years of teaching experience. This luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Olmsted, 3701 Frankfort Avenue.  

Teachers will receive recognition for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50 years of teaching:

The Archdiocese of Louisville is sponsoring the annual ACCOMMODATE 2019: A College and Career Night for Students Seeking Support Services and Post-Secondary Career Opportunities. Couples Celebrate a Total of 5,901 Years of Marriage

October 16, 2019 (Louisville, Ky.)–The Very Reverend Martin A. Linebach, Vicar General for the Archdiocese, is celebrating the annual Wedding Anniversary Mass on Sunday, October 20, 2:00 p.m., at the Cathedral of the Assumption, 433 South Fifth Street.

Two Catholic Elementary Schools Win National Blue Ribbon Award for First Time

September 26, 2019 (Louisville, Ky.)–The United States Department of Education announced that two Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville are 2019 National Blue Ribbon Schools.  Two elementary schools serving preschool through grade 8 will be recognized: Church of the Ascension School (4600 Lynnbrook Drive, Louisville, Ky.) and Saint Dominic School (312 West High Street, Springfield, Ky.), both for the first time.

Catholic Schools Begin 2019-2020 Academic Year

August 5, 2019 (Louisville, KY)–Jefferson County Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville will begin the first official day of instruction on August 14, 2019. Although this is the first “official” day of school, some Catholic schools choose to begin on a day other than August 14.
