Archdiocese of Louisville Celebrates Catholic Schools Week

January 23, 2024 (Louisville, Ky.) –Students, families, pastors, faculty and staff at 48 Catholic elementary and secondary schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville will join dioceses throughout the nation in celebrating Catholic Schools Week from January 28-February 3, 2024. The national theme for this year’s Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.”

Archdiocese of Louisville Honors 3,250 Years of Teaching Service

October 18, 2023 (Louisville, KY) On Wednesday, October 25, the Archdiocese of Louisville will honor 205 Catholic schoolteachers who have achieved a total of 3,250 years of teaching experience. This luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Olmsted, 3701 Frankfort Avenue.

Teachers will receive recognition for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of teaching:

St. Xavier High School Wins National Blue Ribbon Award for the Fifth Time

September 20, 2023 (Louisville, Ky.) – The United States Department of Education has announced that St. Xavier High School has been recognized as a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School by U.S. Secretary of Education Dr. Miguel Cardona. St. Xavier, located at 1609 Popular Level Road, is a five-time recipient of this award. It was the first school recognized in the Archdiocese of Louisville and has received the award in 1984, 1989, 1993, 2016 and 2023.

Catholic High School Placement Test – December 11, 2021

November 3, 2021 (Louisville, KY) –Students in grade 8 who wish to attend a Catholic high school next year are required to take the Catholic high school placement test scheduled on Saturday, December 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Students take the test at the Catholic high school they plan to attend, and students should bring two #2 pencils. The test is free of charge. Information about the location of Catholic high schools can be found at www.louisvillecatholicschools.com.
