Catholic Schools Begin 2019-2020 Academic Year

August 5, 2019 (Louisville, KY)–Jefferson County Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville will begin the first official day of instruction on August 14, 2019. Although this is the first “official” day of school, some Catholic schools choose to begin on a day other than August 14. Parents should consult their school’s handbook to determine when their particular school will begin instruction.

Catholic Elementary Teachers Gather for Opening School Rally

July 31, 2019 (Louisville, KY)–Approximately 700 teachers from 40 Catholic elementary schools will gather on Friday, August 9 to celebrate the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year and renew their collective ministry in Catholic school education.  This event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Saint Michael Parish, 3705 Stone Lakes Drive, Louisville.

Archdiocese of Louisville Celebrates National Catholic Schools Week

January 24, 2019– More than 19,000 students and 1,500 faculty and staff at 49 Catholic elementary and secondary schools will celebrate National Catholic Schools Week from January 27-February 2, 2019. The theme for this year’s Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.”

Catholic High School Placement Test – December 8, 2018

Students in grade 8 who wish to attend a Catholic high school next year are required to take the Catholic high school placement test scheduled on Saturday, December 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

Students take the test at the Catholic high school they plan to attend, and students should bring two #2 pencils. The test is free of charge. Information about the location of Catholic high schools can be found at www.louisvillecatholicschools.com.
