July 31, 2019 (Louisville, KY)–Approximately 700 teachers from 40 Catholic elementary schools will gather on Friday, August 9 to celebrate the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year and renew their collective ministry in Catholic school education.  This event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Saint Michael Parish, 3705 Stone Lakes Drive, Louisville.

With the theme “A Time for Shaping,” teachers will gather to celebrate Mass with Vicar General Father Martin A. Linebach, pastor of Saint James Church in Elizabethtown. The Catholic Education Foundation and the Ulmer family also will present “Innovation Awards” to teachers with two to five years of experience whose innovative and creative approach to learning inspires outstanding student achievement.

The Archdiocese of Louisville has 49 Catholic elementary and secondary schools serving seven counties of Central Kentucky.

10:45-11:15 a.m. Awards Presentation

*Those wanting to conduct interviews with Superintendent Leisa Schulz should arrive before the Mass (8:45-9:15 a.m.) or after the awards presentation, at around 11:15 a.m.
