Three Catholic Elementary Schools Win National Blue Ribbon Award

September 24, 2020 (Louisville, Ky.)–The United States Department of Education announced that three Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville are 2020 National Blue Ribbon Schools.  Three elementary schools serving preschool through grade 8 will be recognized: Saint Agnes School (1800 Newburg Road, Louisville, Ky.) for the fourth time (1999, 2005, 2014, and 2020). Statement

In light of yesterday’s guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, Archbishop Kurtz is calling upon all priests to suspend the public celebration of the Eucharist, effective immediately and until further notice.

In his message to priests, Archbishop noted his conversations with pastors over the weekend. Pastors communicated to him both the concern of those parishioners who attended Mass as well as the great consolation that the Eucharist provides for so many.

Archdiocese of Louisville Catholic Schools Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update March 12, 2020 (5:00 p.m.)

Dear Catholic School Leaders and Parents,

Archdiocese of Louisville Catholic Schools will be closed Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, April 3, 2020 in response to Governor Andy Beshear’s recommendation that all Kentucky schools close as one of several preventive measures to address the COVID-19 outbreak.  All Catholic school activities are also canceled during this time.

Each Catholic school will communicate directly with parents to share specific information about opportunities and requirements to continue studies through alternative methods of instruction.

Archdiocese of Louisville Welcomes 380 New Members

February 26, 2020 (Louisville, KY) – On Sunday, March 1, 2020, Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D. will preside at the Rite of Election and Call to Continuing Conversion, at which he will recognize three hundred eighty individuals who are preparing to enter the Roman Catholic Church. January 21, 2020 (Louisville, Ky.)–More than 18,500 students and 1,500 faculty and staff at 49 Catholic elementary and secondary schools will celebrate National Catholic Schools Week from January 26-February 1, 2020.
