Catholic High School Placement Test – December 10, 2016

Students in grade 8 who wish to attend a Catholic high school next year are required to take the Catholic high school placement test scheduled on Saturday, December 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

Students take the test at the Catholic high school they plan to attend. They must bring a $10 fee and two #2 pencils.  Information about the location of the high schools can be found at www.archlou.org/schools.

Archdiocese of Louisville Honors 3,610 Years of Teaching Service

October 26, 2016 (Louisville, KY) On Wednesday, November 2, the Archdiocese of Louisville will honor 206 Catholic school teachers who have achieved a total of 3,610 years of teaching experience. This luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Olmsted, 3701 Frankfort Avenue.  

Teachers are being recognized for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and 45 years of teaching:

Couples Celebrate a Combined Total of 5,644 Years of Marriage

October 19, 2016 (Louisville, KY)  Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D. is celebrating the annual Wedding Anniversary Mass on Sunday, October 23, 2:00 p.m., at the Cathedral of the Assumption, 433 South Fifth Street.

Catholic Elementary Teachers Gather for Opening School Rally

July 28, 2016 (Louisville, KY) – Approximately 750 teachers from 40 Catholic elementary schools will gather on Friday, August 5 to celebrate the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year and share their collective ministry in Catholic school education.  This event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence Parish, 1925 Lewiston Drive.

Catholic Schools Begin 2016-17 Academic Year

July 28, 2016 (Louisville, KY) – Catholic elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville will begin the first official day of instruction on August 17, 2016. Although this is the first “official” day of school, some Catholic schools choose to begin on a day other than August 17. Parents should consult their school’s handbook for the first day information.
