This exciting 3-day conference for high schoolers will lead teens into a deeper encounter with Jesus, who knows them, loves them, and calls them to follow Him wholeheartedly. Through engaging talks, dynamic worship, Eucharistic adoration, and an authentic experience of community, participants will be invited to root themselves in their identity as beloved children of God, let go of what holds them back, and say ‘yes’ to the adventure of following Jesus Christ.

INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION IS TAKEN ON A CASE BY CASE BASES.  Any teen registered must have an adult chaperone over the age of 21 (Who has satisfied Archdiocese of Louisville’s Safe Environment Training and Background Check) with them at all times.  Both Student and Adult must pay Conference Fees.

You may be wondering, “What exactly does an LCYC Student Ambassador do?” A LOT! Before LCYC, our Ambassadors will help us spread the word about the conference. You’ll have opportunities to invite your friends and classmates, promote LCYC at your school and parish, share LCYC on social media, and help other young people get excited about coming.

Then, during LCYC, our Student Ambassadors will become some of the student leaders of the weekend. You may have opportunities to:

• Introduce Keynote and Breakout Speakers
• Lead Prayers
• Proclaim Scripture
• Serve during Mass and Adoration
• Welcome other students
• Help with activities and transitions
• Participate in videos and social media
• Help create an incredible atmosphere throughout the conference
• And probably a few things we haven’t even thought of yet!

But here’s the most important part: We aren’t looking for perfect students. We are looking for students who are willing to step up, serve others, share their faith, and help other young people encounter Jesus.

The Archdiocese of Louisville is committed to ensuring that children and youth who worship, study or participate in church-sponsored activities can do so in the safest and most secure setting possible. In an effort to fulfill this commitment, all employees or volunteers who have contact with children or youth (18 and under) for ANY length of time are required to participate in one of the 2-hour Safe Environment Training Workshops.

ALL HOTEL ROOMS WILL BE HANDLED BY THE OFFICE OF YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS (OYYA). PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE OMNI HOTEL FOR RESERVATIONS FOR THE LCYC CONFERENCE. 

Group Reservations will be reserved once the OYYA office receives your Registration Form A, and rooms assigned when we receive your form with names, genders, and ages.

Individual Reservations will be handled once payment and Registration Form B is received by the OYYA. We will contact you with your Hotel Reservation Confirmation.

All students and Chaperones are expected to stay at the Hotel for the entire event. The overnight experience is an intentional part of the vision for LCYC. Staying together at the conference allows young people to build community with one another, participate fully in the evening activities, and experience the conference as a retreat rather than simply attending a series of sessions.

ADULTS NEEDED TO MAKE LCYC HAPPEN!

LCYC is more than a conference—it’s an opportunity for young people from across the Archdiocese to encounter Jesus Christ, build community, and discover that they have a place in the Church.

We need adults who are willing to be part of that experience!

Adult volunteers are an essential part of LCYC. Whether you can serve for a few hours, a full day, or throughout the weekend, your presence helps create a safe, welcoming, prayerful, and joy-filled environment where young people can encounter Christ.

Volunteers may serve in a variety of areas, including hospitality, registration, room and hallway support, prayer experiences, logistics,  and general conference assistance.

You don’t have to be a youth minister or have special experience—you simply need a heart for young people and a willingness to serve.

   1. Young people often feel pressure to have their whole life figured out. This session explores discernment, vocation, college and career decisions, and how to recognize God’s voice amid uncertainty.

2. Enough Finding Your Identity in a World of Comparison 
   1. Young people are constantly told to build an identity around their achievements, appearance, popularity, or success. This session helps them discover their true identity.

3. Running on Empty: Stress, Anxiety, and Finding Peace
   1. Many teens are exhausted. This session provides a Christian perspective on anxiety, stress, and mental health, while encouraging healthy habits and the importance of seeking help when it’s needed.

4. Offline: Finding God in a Distracted World
   1. We are more connected today than ever before, and yet we are often more distracted, anxious, and exhausted than ever before. Constant notifications, endless scrolling, and the pressure to always be available can leave us feeling restless and unable to hear God’s voice. This session explores how silence, rest, and intentional use of technology can create space for deeper friendships, greater peace, and a more authentic relationship with Jesus.

5. Can You Hear Me Now? Learning to Recognize God’s Voice
   1. Prayer can seem mysterious and intimidating. This session introduces practical ways to pray and teaches how God speaks through Scripture, silence, and everyday life.

6. Gamer Saint: Carlo Acutis Path to Holiness
   1. Carlo Acutis was known to love technology and video games, and yet knew how to use them as tools for enjoyment and not allow them to control his life. This session introduces the Saint to teens and uses his story as inspiration to find an integrated holiness in their life.

7. Friendship Matters 
   1. Everyone wants friends, but many young people are experiencing loneliness like never before. Real friendship is about more than having followers, being in a group chat, or sitting at the same lunch table. This session explores God’s plan for friendship and how authentic relationships help us become the people we are called to be. Ultimately, great saints were rarely formed alone; we need people who challenge us, encourage us, and help us follow Jesus.

8. Plot Twist: Finding God When Life Doesn’t Go According to Plan 
   1. No one plans on failure, disappointment, loss, unanswered prayers, or unexpected changes. Yet many of the greatest saints encountered God precisely when their plans fell apart. This session helps teens understand how God works through suffering, setbacks, and uncertainty. Rather than seeing difficulties as evidence that God has abandoned them, students will discover how the Lord can use even painful experiences to lead us toward something greater.

Adult Breakout Sessions:

1. Beyond Busy: Moving from Programs to Missionary Discipleship
   1. Many parishes and families are incredibly busy. Calendars are full, programs are offered, and events are planned – but activity alone does not necessarily lead to discipleship. This session invites adults to reconsider what success in youth ministry and family faith really looks like. Drawing upon the vision of the New Evangelization, participants will explore how to move beyond merely keeping young people occupied toward helping them encounter Jesus Christ, belong to a community, and become missionary disciples. The goal is not to do more things, but to do the most important things with greater intentionality.

2. Walking with Them: Accompanying Young People Toward Jesus
   1. Young people today do not need adults who have all the answers; they need adults who are willing to walk beside them. In a culture marked by loneliness, confusion, and unprecedented change, one of the greatest gifts the Church can offer is the ministry of accompaniment. This session invites adults to discover the art of walking with young people – not as project managers or problem-solvers, but as spiritual mentors who patiently help them encounter Jesus and discern his call. Ultimately, this session is about becoming the kind of adult who can journey with young people – someone who knows them, loves them, believes in them, and points them to Jesus.
