August 3, 2018 (Louisville, Ky.) – Approximately 700 teachers from 40 Catholic elementary schools will gather on Friday, August 10 to celebrate the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year and share their collective ministry in Catholic school education.  This event will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Saint Margaret Mary Parish, 7813 Shelbyville Road, Louisville.

With the theme “Enlisting Witnesses for Jesus Christ,” teachers will gather to celebrate Mass with Archbishop Joseph Kurtz. A colleague also will share some thoughts, and the Catholic Education Foundation and Ulmer family will present  special award presentations.

The Archdiocese of Louisville has 49 Catholic elementary and secondary schools serving seven counties of Central Kentucky.

*It would be best to conduct interviews with Superintendent Leisa Schulz before the Mass (8:45-9:15 a.m.) or after the awards presentation, 11:00 to 11:30 a.m.
