Father Chris Lubecke to be Installed as Pastor of St. Catherine Parish, New Haven and Immaculate Conception Parish, Culvertown

July 13, 2016 (New Haven, Ky.) – On Sunday, July 17,  2016, Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D. will install Father Christopher B. Lubecke as pastor of St. Catherine Parish in New Haven and Immaculate Conception Parish in Culvertown.  This will take place at the 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Catherine (174 North Main Street) Church.

Catholic Secondary School Class of 2016 Receives Record Number of Scholarships

July 5, 2016 (Louisville, KY) – The 1,457 seniors who graduated from the nine Catholic secondary schools in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville received a record $128.4 million in scholarships to colleges, universities, vocational, or business schools. This figure does not include grants or Kentucky Educational Excellence (KEES) scholarship money; these seniors received $5.9 million in KEES grants over four years. Scholarships were given to 905 students or 62% of the graduating class for a total of 3,026 scholarships. […]

Wilfredo Fernandez and Sean McKinley to be ordained to the Priesthood for the Archdiocese of Louisville

May 16, 2016 (Louisville, Ky.) – On Saturday, May 28, 2016, Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D. will ordain Deacons Wilfredo Fernandez and Sean McKinley to the diocesan priesthood for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville.  The ordination will take place at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Assumption, 433 South Fifth Street.

St. Leonard School Creates First “Buddy Bench” in Louisville

May 9, 2016 (Louisville, Ky.) – On Monday, May 16 at 10:30 a.m., the Reverend B.J. Breen, pastor of St. Leonard and St. Frances of Rome parishes, will bless a “Buddy Bench” at St. Leonard School (440 Zorn Avenue).  The blessing will take place on the school playground.  (In case of rain, the blessing will be held in the school gymnasium.)

Archdiocese of Louisville Welcomes 464 New Members

February 8, 2016 (Louisville, KY) – Four hundred sixty-four individuals who are preparing to enter the Roman Catholic Church will be recognized during the “Rite of Election and Call to Continuing Conversion” liturgies at two locations. Archdiocese OF Louisville Celebrates National Catholic Schools Week

January 19, 2016 – More than 19,000 students and 1,500 faculty and staff at 49 Catholic elementary and secondary schools will celebrate National Catholic Schools Week from January 24-30, 2016. The theme for this year’s Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service.”
