May 9, 2014 (Louisville, Ky.) On May 8, an individual made a report of sexual abuse to the Archdiocese of Louisville. He reported that as a child he had been sexually abused in the 1970s by Father Joseph Hemmerle.

Father R. Joseph Hemmerle is on administrative leave as pastor of Holy Cross and St. Francis Parishes due to an accusation of sexual abuse of a minor. During this time, Fr. Hemmerle will refrain from all public ministries.

Archdiocese of Louisville Welcomes 448 New Members

March 4, 2014 (Louisville, Ky.) Four hundred forty-eight individuals who are preparing to enter the Roman Catholic Church will be recognized during the “Rite of Election and Call to Continuing Conversion” ceremonies at two locations. The first will be on Saturday, March 8, 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Parish (3705 Stone Lakes Drive). Catholic Charities Holds Rice Bowl Lunch

February 13, 2014 (Louisville, Ky.) On Wednesday, February 19, beginning at 10:30 a.m., Catholic Charities of Louisville will hold an event for Catholic school students to learn about Catholic Relief Services’ Rice Bowl program. Archdiocese of Louisville Celebrates Catholic Schools Week

January 21, 2014 Nearly 20,000 students and 1,500 faculty and staff at 47 Catholic elementary and secondary schools will celebrate National Catholic Schools Week from January 26-February 1, 2014. The theme for this year’s Catholic Schools Week is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service.”
