Bread for Life Food Pantry Manager

Opening: Bread for Life Food Pantry Manager
Parish/School: St. Vincent de Paul Outreach Ministries (St. Joseph Bardstown)
Description: As a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Outreach Ministries leadership team, the Manager participates in setting broad organizational goals, objectives and policies particularly in food pantry operation and client services. The manager is responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising qualified volunteers and employees.  Able to manage appropriate inventory levels to provide a broad choice of nutritious food for clients and maintain a safe work environment.  Comfortable with community-facing work, to include attendance at community events.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is desired or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of warehouse and inventory management experience managing the day-to-day operations of an organization employing at least 50 staff/volunteer persons.
  • Be highly proficient in understanding the special requirements of operating in a not-for-profit setting.
  • Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.

Business Manager

Description: The Business Manager is a full-time professional administrator who serves a three-parish cluster with a school (30-32 hours per week, 8am to 4pm, Monday through Thursday). These include: St. Catherine Church and St. Catherine Academy (New Haven), St. Vincent de Paul Church (New Hope), and Church of the Immaculate Conception (Culvertown). The Business Manager is a steward of the physical, financial, and personnel resources of the parishes. He or she is responsible for budget development and parish finances; supporting fundraising efforts; supervision of parish staff positions and other Human Resources functions; facilities management; cemetery management; school office support; and legal and policy compliance. While most accounting functions are with the Bookkeeper, the Business Manager is ultimately responsible for these functions as well as the overall maintenance, accuracy, and security of the parishes’ financial, demographic, and sacramental records. In collaboration with the Pastor, the Principal, the Bookkeeper, the Administrative Assistant and other staff members, he or she integrates effective parish business management within the overall parish mission. Perks include the opportunity to work and train with a highly proficient Bookkeeper; Fridays off throughout the year; and reduced hours during June and July (18-20 hours per week, 8am to 1pm).
Qualifications: The candidate must be a practicing Catholic who embraces the teachings of the Church. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required; Parish Office and/or Catholic School Office experience a plus; knowledge of Catholic parish and school business software a plus (e.g. Parish Data Systems – Church Management, PDS Ledger, Sycamore Education Program, and Payroll System); Human Resources or managerial experience a plus; proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel; strong pastoral,  leadership, organizational, and communication skills, and ability to multi-task.

Description: St. Dominic Church in Springfield is seeking a Parish Bookkeeper.  We are a medium size parish with approximately 500 families; a school and pre-school with 225 students; multiple school and parish related organizations, and a school cafeteria.    The bookkeeper reports to the pastor and performs all financial bookkeeping and accounting functions, in accordance with archdiocesan financial standards.
Qualifications: Familiarity with PDS Ledger, Paycor, Excel, Word and Outlook Express is strongly desired. Candidate must have 3 to 5 years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting, possess excellent organizational skills, maintain confidentiality about parishioners, volunteers and staff, and be an active Catholic.
