They share in the responsibility of the need assessment, decision making, planning and implementation of a variety of parish ministries, especially  worship and pastoral care. More of a generalist than a specialist, in collaboration with the Pastor and other staff ministers, the Pastoral Associate integrates a variety of ministries within the overall parish mission, and enjoys people.
Qualifications: Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Ministry/Theology (or equivalent), and 3 to 5 years’ experience.

Part time youth minister

Description: Saint Lawrence Church is looking for a part time youth minister.  The primary responsibility will be for regular formation/spiritual enrichment of our high school youth.  Also, to coordinate the confirmation program for our 8th grade students (Religious Education students and Notre Dame Academy).
Qualifications: Candidates should have or be working toward catechist certification.  Participation in Archdiocesan Youth Development opportunities is expected.  Salary is Archdiocesan scale.

Responsibilities include, answering a multi-line phone, directing calls, composing the weekly bulletin, monthly ministry schedules, maintain the monthly parish calendar, maintaining the Mass Intention Book, greeting and collaborating with parishioners, parish committees and supporting the parish office staff and volunteers.

Qualifications: Candidate must have the ability to multi-task, have strong communication and organization skills, be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Candidate must be able to adapt and learn parish data software.

Director of Worship

Parish/School: St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church
Description: St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Louisville, KY (Southwest Jefferson County) is hiring a part-time salaried, Director of Worship.

The ideal candidate would plan and coordinate the various liturgical celebrations in collaboration with the Pastor, the Parish Staff, Worship Committee. Additionally, they will also serve as a staff liaison, coordinate with worship committee assist in the recruitment of volunteers, and would oversee the various aspects of parish sacramental life: Weddings, Funerals, and other various special occasion Masses.  The ideal candidate would also assist in education of parish ministers and teams as well as make information available for opportunities for growth as well.  Finally, other duties would include preparing announcements for mass, as well as the ordering of necessary liturgical supplies and equipment as the lead Sacristan.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate must be a practicing Catholic who embraces the teachings of the Catholic Church.  A certificate in liturgical studies is recommended but can be substituted for documented experience.  The parish would be willing to assist ideal candidate in seeking liturgical training as well.

Director of Religious Education

Parish/School: Holy Trinity and Holy Name Parishes
Description: The Director of Religious Education is a member of the Parish leadership team with a shared responsibility for the lifelong formation of the parishioners within the overall parish mission. In collaboration with the pastor and other staff members, the Director of Religious Education will provide assistance in the planning and implementation of ministries and sacramental actions within the daily activities of the parish.

General responsibilities, included but not limited to:

  • Foster the faith formation of parishioners, serving as a specialist/consultant in areas of catechesis and faith formation of children and adults.
  • Administer and direct the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.
  • Train and oversee volunteer catechists.
  • Collaborate with parish staff and volunteer leadership in the areas of Sacramental Preparation Programs, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, Seasonal Programs, and Scripture Studies.
  • Other work duties as appropriate assigned by the Pastor.
Qualifications:
  • Practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the Church.
  • Education, training and experience in theology, faith formation and liturgy.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Strong verbal, written and technology communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Compassionate presence.
  • (Bi-lingual: English and Spanish language ability a plus for these parishes)
