Description: St. Gregory parish is seeking a part-time secretary to facilitate communications and parish publications with the weekly bulletin, website and social media platforms. Provide administrative support to the Pastor, parish staff and committees. Update sacramental records and new parish families in the parish systems. Act as a minister of hospitality to the parish. The part-time schedule for this position is 26 hours per week, Monday – Thursday from 9:00am – 4:00pm. Eligible for 401k plan, vacation and sick leave.
Qualifications: Candidate must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with the Pastor, other staff members and parishioners.  Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.  The ideal candidate possesses knowledge of ParishSOFT or willingness to learn. Experienced with Microsoft Office and Publisher. Practicing Catholic preferred.

The Director of Music and Liturgy plans music, directs the choir, schedules and trains cantors, lectors, Eucharistic Ministers and sacristans for all liturgies. Church has a Walker organ, Baldwin piano, Yamaha Clavinova,  and, sound system.

Description: The Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral parish, in beautiful historic Bardstown KY, is seeking a faith-filled, creative and energetic individual to serve as a full-time Director of Family Faith Formation. Responsibilities include directing all parish religious education activities, including OCIA programming, sacrament preparation programming, and collaborating with both the school staff and parish staff to integrate religious formation with the overall life and mission of the parish.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, and knowledge of the Catholic Catechism and formation. Candidates must be a fully initiated practicing Roman Catholic. Prefer candidates with an academic degree in a related field.

Director of Music

Opening: Director of Music and Worship
Parish/School: St. James – Elizabethtown
Description: We seek a Director of Music to lead our music ministry and collaborate with clergy, staff, school leadership, and parishioners to enhance the prayerful experience of our liturgical celebrations.

Responsibilities:

o Collaborate with the Pastor and volunteer ministry leaders to plan music for all parish liturgies, including Sunday Masses, weekly school Masses, holy days of obligation, weddings, funerals, and special parish celebrations.

o Ensure all liturgical music is appropriate for the liturgy, fosters active participation, reflects the breadth of the Catholic Church’s musical heritage, and complies with liturgical law and the policies of the Archdiocese of Louisville.

o Direct and rehearse parish choirs, cantors, and instrumentalists.

o Recruit, train, and support volunteer vocal and instrumental musicians to build a strong, collaborative ministry.

o Provide accompaniment for liturgies and oversee other instrumental contributions.

o Maintain parish instruments and technology used in the liturgy.

o Manage parish music licenses and resources and compliance with copyright law.

o Work closely with parish and school staff, committees, and volunteers to integrate music into parish life.

o Foster a welcoming environment that encourages parishioner involvement and leadership in music ministry and other liturgical ministries.

o Support parish events and celebrations with appropriate musical leadership.

Qualifications:
  • A practicing Catholic with a ministerial heart and passion for the Sacred Liturgy.
  • Bachelor’s degree in music or liturgical studies, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in piano and/or organ performance.
  • Experience directing adult and children’s choirs, and working with cantors.
  • Knowledge of Catholic liturgy and liturgical music.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
