Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Parish is in search for a full time Office Secretary.  The Secretary will work closely with Office planning, organizing, and directing of Saint Peter the Apostle Parish program.  The Secretary works closely with The Pastor, Business Manager and Principal in all development Parish office duties.  

  • Answering and directing all calls coming into the office
  • Schedule and maintain staff meetings, facilities calendar, ministries meeting times, meeting places, Pastors calendar,
  • Public relations representative at Parish events
  • Provide meeting notes
  • Organize Bulk mailing
  • Maintain and update all sacramental records
  • Coordinate and schedule weekly collections counters
  • Maintain office supplies and update office
  • Update and send office letters, parish update letters etc.
  • Performs duties as directed by Pastor
  • Create and maintain weekly Bulletin
  • Develop and maintain flyers, newsletters
  • Monitor Parish bulletin boards
  • Register new families and maintain contact information
  • Keep the Census of the church
  • Provide updates for Catholic Appeal contributions
  • Stewardship coordinator
  • Bilingual preferred

Bookkeeper and Tuition Coordinator

Description: The Bookkeeper and Tuition Coordinator is responsible for advancing the mission of the parish by supporting parish and school financial operations, including bookkeeping, vendor payments, financial reporting, FACTS Premier administration, tuition and enrollment support, and coordination with families, staff, vendors, and parish leadership. The position requires accuracy, organization, confidentiality, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the Pastor, Business Manager, Principal, school office, and parish staff.

Responsibilities include recording all parish financial transactions in the ParishSOFT accounting system in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation, preparing and making timely bank deposits for miscellaneous parish receipts, maintaining accurate records of special donations and restricted funds, maintaining the tuition side of school FACTS accounts, establishing tuition agreements, monitoring tuition payments, preparing and sending correspondence regarding delinquent FACTS accounts, and communicating and building relationships with school families regarding FACTS accounts.

This is a full-time position with benefits and salary commensurate with experience. Some evening meetings required. Reports to Business Manager.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration required.
  • Experience working in a parish, Catholic school, or similar environment preferred.
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Must have proficiency or willingness to learn the following software programs: ParishSOFT financial and church management, FACTS Student Information System, and FACTS Tuition Management.

Director of Sacred Music and Liturgy

Description: St. James Catholic Church was built in 1913 and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It is home to the third largest pipe organ in the Archdiocese of Louisville, a 41-rank Pilcher organ that was constructed in 1885 and installed in St. James in 1914. We have an all-volunteer choir that averages 35 voices.

In collaboration with and under the leadership of the Pastor, the Director of Sacred Music and Liturgy works for “the glory of God and the sanctification of the faithful.” As the main organist and choir director, the Director achieves this work through beautiful sacred music and robust and detailed liturgical programming toward this end. This full-time position is responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive program of sacred music for the parish that assists the people of God in praying the liturgy well; and for supporting the Pastor in the liturgical life of the parish. The Director reports directly to the Pastor and collaborates with other members of the parish staff and school faculty (as needed). This position has a part-time assistant for support as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Deep desire to grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ in fidelity to the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Strong background in sacred music, Gregorian chant, and liturgy with piano proficiency and organ mastery
  • Extensive experience with forming and directing cantors, choirs, scholas, and other musicians
  • Solid attention to detail and well-organized
  • Deep knowledge of and respect for Catholic liturgical norms and principles
  • Facility with musical notation software (Finale, Sibelius, etc.)

Description: St. Augustine Church and School, together with Holy Name of Mary Church, are seeking a full-time Parish Business Manager / Bookkeeper to assist in the prudent and faithful stewardship of parish and school resources. This position plays a vital role in supporting the mission and daily life of our parish communities and school.

Responsibilities include oversight of parish and school finances, including budgeting, payroll administration, accounting, account reconciliations, cash management, preparation of financial statements and reports, and basic human resources administration. The Parish Business Manager / Bookkeeper works closely with parish and school leadership, reports directly to the pastor, and is entrusted with sensitive financial and personnel information.

Because this position serves two parish communities and a parish school, the successful candidate must be comfortable managing multiple accounts and financial processes while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail. The position also involves working with parish and school leadership, finance councils, auditors, and diocesan offices as needed.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with significant accounting coursework, or a related field. Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting, together with at least 3–5 years of progressively responsible accounting or bookkeeping experience. Experience with budgeting, payroll administration, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and fund accounting is strongly preferred. Experience in parish, school, nonprofit, or fund accounting is especially beneficial.

This position requires excellent organizational skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. The successful candidate must demonstrate the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and professional discretion, as well as the ability to establish a strong relationship of trust and collaboration with the pastor.
