St. Leonard School Run/Walk Program Kick-Off

October 8, 2013 (Louisville, KY) On Thursday, October 10, from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m., St. Leonard School (440 Zorn Avenue), will kick off a new program for St. Leonard students called Rise to Run & Wake to Walk (R2R & W2W).  This kick-off will consist of a “Buddy Walk” in the Riedlonn neighborhood behind the school.

This fitness program, led by physical education teacher Anthony Gunn, will encourage physical activity and exercise among the entire student body.  Coach Gunn will invite students to arrive at school every Tuesday morning at 7:20 a.m. to walk or run in the school gym for 30 minutes prior to school.  Students who participate will receive a special bracelet and will earn a bead for their bracelet each Tuesday that they participate.  The Tuesday fitness sessions will begin Tuesday, October 15 and continue while school is in session until May 13, 2014.
