Gold Mass, Monday, November 27, 2023: Archbishop Shelton Fabre will preside at the Gold Mass, which honors scientists, science educators, and students of science and is open to all who have an interest in the relationship between faith and science. The Mass will be held at 6:00 p.m., Holy Family Church (3938 Poplar Level Road, Louisville). The Mass will be followed by pizza and a presentation in the Pastoral Center (3940 Poplar Level Road, right next to the Church.) The presentation will feature Christopher Graney, astronomer with the Vatican Observatory, and Tim Tomes, Archdiocesan Archivist, who will discuss the recently restored Bouchet Telescope. This 150-year-old telescope belonged to Monsignor Michael Bouchet, an inventor and vicar general for the then Diocese of Louisville in the 1870s.
