Our Lady of Lourdes Students Welcome Visiting Artist
(Louisville, Ky.) Our Lady of Lourdes (510 Breckenridge Lane) 8th graders will welcome a visiting artist for four workshop sessions on Wednesdays and Fridays (March 21, 23, 28, and 30) from 8:00 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. During these four sessions, local artist Janet Britt will be working with the students to create wood sculptures. Each student will draw an endangered animal on a piece of wood, and Ms. Britt will cut the animals out of the wood and attach to a base. Students will paint the animals and also share, if time allows, research on the animal and why it is endangered. This workshop will combine art, science, and environmental themes. This experience is made possible by a grant from PNC/Fund for the Arts Teacher Arts

Ascension School Holds Special Breakfasts to Raise Funds for Tornado Victims
(Louisville, Ky.) Each day from 7:10 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. for the rest of the school year, Ascension School’s (4600 Lynbrook Drive) custodian, Mr. Jim Grider, will sell special breakfast items to families and students in order to raise funds for tornado victims. These food items include scrambled eggs, hash browns, and fruit. Funds raised will be added to Ascension Parish’s efforts to support areas hit by the tornadoes in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
