Cantor Formation
Cantor Formation is a practicum focusing on the ministry of the cantor in Roman Catholic Liturgy. Spiritual and technical preparation are emphasized, as well as the role of the cantor in prayer. This workshop will benefit both new and experienced cantors, as well music and liturgy directors who are responsible for their parish formation. Topics to be covered include: Theological foundations for the cantor ministry, Cantor’s role during Mass, Effective practice and preparation techniques, Developing ministerial presence and confidence. Space is limited. The small class size allows each participant the opportunity to apply the techniques in a small group setting. There is no fee for this course.
