September 18, 2013  (Louisville, KY) To explore and learn about the work of authors, the 3rd grade students at Holy Trinity Parish School (423 Cherrywood Road) will gather on Tuesday, September 24 at 8:00 a.m. for an author visit with former Holy Trinity Parish School teacher, Kathryn Tabler Gall.

On this day, 3rd grade students will meet author Kathryn Tabler Gall, who served as a former Holy Trinity Parish school teacher during the 2010-2011 school year. Gall, the author of Good Luck Duck Learns to Swim, will share her book, and she will discuss the writing process and her motivation for becoming an author with the students.

Good Luck Duck promotes determination, motivation, and success in unexpected places, as the main character, Lucky, experiences differences that make his learning hard.  Lucky discovers that the challenges that he faces on his journey empower him to find his “inner brightness.”

Gall explains, “As an educator, I would encourage my students to challenge themselves to achieve their goals and dreams. Publishing a children’s book had always been a dream of mine, and when I was pregnant with my son, I realized I need to practice what I preach to set a good example for him. I am grateful for this experience (as an author) so I can teach him that you truly can do anything you set your mind to doing!”
