Thank you for your interest in the possibility of substitute teaching within the Archdiocese of Louisville. To be considered an applicant, you will need to complete an application form (link below). Within the application you will find a useful checklist that will assist you in submitting all of the necessary documentation with the application.

For elementary schools, an updated substitute teacher list is prepared and forwarded to our schools on the first of every month. If hired, you will be contacted directly by the school needing your assistance. You also will be paid by the school that employs you as a sub.

Each high school in our archdiocese has its own substitute teaching requirements. If you are interested in substitute teaching at the high school level, please contact the high schools directly. A link to each school is located here.

Choral Music Director

Opening: Choral Music Director
Parish/School: Presentation Academy
Description: Presentation Academy is a college preparatory academy for young women and Louisville’s original Catholic school.  Founded in 1831 by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, Presentation is strategically and conveniently located in downtown Louisville – its biggest classroom. The school serves a diverse student population from more than 50 zip codes in the Kentuckiana area. Presentation is close-knit community of teachers, staff, parents, alumnae and supporters who help prepare Pres girls for living and leading in a global society.

All freshmen and sophomores at Presentation are required to take chorus, and 80% of juniors and seniors continue to take Chorus. The Choral Director is responsible for teaching these courses and preparing students for winter and spring performances.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) in music, education, or related field.
  • Prior successful experience working in a school setting strongly preferred.

The Operations Manager is a full-time employee who is an experienced supervisor of housekeeping staff, maintenance of school buildings and security personnel.  This position not only strategically plans the physical infrastructure of the campus, but also executes those plans with a team.

Qualifications: The Operations Manager must have the following:

  1. 2 years’ experience in facilities management
  2. 2-3 years’ experience in supervising staff
  3. Experience working with security personnel an advantage
  4. Experience working with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • A bachelor’s in management, administration or related field preferred
  • Motivated to work independently but also collaborate and lead teams
  • Strong moral character and integrity – must conduct him/herself appropriately in an all-girls Catholic school environment
  • Organizational skills are essential; ability to multi-task
  • Strong interpersonal skills with faculty, staff, parents and students
  • Willingness to work evenings or weekends when necessary

Description: St. Leonard Community School is seeking an innovative, collaborative, and creative Computer Teacher/Technology and Media Specialist for an immediate opening. This person is responsible for teaching computer skills and library/media skills to students in grades K-8. The position also requires training, modeling, and assisting teachers in integrating technology in the classroom to support student engagement and achievement; maintaining the school technology inventories; and coordinating the  tasks required of the outside technology service provider.
Qualifications: Ideal candidates will effectively support classroom teachers and students in implementation of our award-winning personalized learning programs as well as teach students computer and library/media skills. The candidate will also provide technological support to the school and parish. Experience with the Google G-Suite for Education is necessary, as well as knowledge of iPads and Chromebooks, the Sycamore Education school management system, and other assessment and learning platforms.
