Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre of Louisville will celebrate the Mass of Ordination to the Priesthood at the Cathedral of the Assumption on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11 a.m. All are invited to attend as the archbishop ordains Deacon Evrard Muhoza a priest of the archdiocese which is comprised of twenty-four counties in Central Kentucky.
Deacon Muhoza, 27, is a native of Burundi and the oldest of five children. Muhoza and his family moved to Louisville in 2014 where he attended Jeffersontown High School. His priestly formation started at Bishop Simon Brute Seminary College while he earned a bachelor’s degree in Catholic studies from Marian University in Indianapolis. Muhoza completed his priestly formation at St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in southern Indiana with a Master of Divinity degree.
Following ordination, Muhoza will serve as parochial vicar at St. Patrick Church in Louisville.
