Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre is pleased to announce the following priest appointments for the Archdiocese of Louisville. All are effective July 1, 2026, unless otherwise noted.
Vicar for Priests
Fr. John Stoltz has been appointed as Vicar for Priests, in addition to serving as pastor of St. Aloysius, Pewee Valley.
Very Rev. Father Anthony Chandler, KCHS duties as vicar for priest will end. He will remain pastor of Holy Spirit, Louisville and St. Leonard, Louisville.
Newly Ordained
Deacon Evrard Muhoza will serve as parochial vicar of St. Patrick Parish, Louisville, following ordination to the priesthood on May 30, 2026.
New Pastor Assignments
Father Robert Barnell has been appointed pastor of St. Ignatius Martyr Parish, Louisville. He will maintain his duties as pastor of St. Bartholomew Parish, Louisville.
Father Wilfredo Fernandez has been appointed pastor of St. Peter the Apostle Parish, Louisville.
Father Dustin Hungerford has been appointed pastor of St. Stephen Martyr Parish, Louisville, effective August 1, 2026.
Father Troy Overton will remain as pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Louisville, while his pastoral responsibilities will end at St. Thomas More Parish.
Father Casey Sanders has been appointed pastor of St. Brigid Parish, Louisville and St. James Parish, Louisville.
Very Rev. Father Jinto Thomas, C.M.I. has been pointed pastor of Emmanuel Parish, Albany and Holy Cross Parish, Burkesville. Additionally, he has been appointed presbyteral moderator of St. Bernard Parish, Clementsville, and Sacred Heart Parish, Liberty. He will maintain his duties as Dean of Deanery 8.
Father Saju Vadakumpadan, C.M.I. has been appointed pastor of St. John Paul II Parish, Louisville.
Father Minh Vu has been appointed pastor of St. Thomas More Parish, Louisville. He will maintain his duties as pastor of St. John Vianney Parish, Louisville.
Father Brito Cardenas has been appointed pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Louisville, after serving as administrator.
Rather Augustine Judd, O.P. has been appointed pastor of Holy Trinity Parish, Fredericktown, and Holy Rosary Parish, Manton after serving as administrator.
Father Matthew Millay has been appointed pastor of Ascension Parish, Louisville, after serving as administrator. In addition to his pastoral duties, Father Millay will serve as Director of Vocations.
Father Charles Mungai, F.M.H. has been appointed pastor of St. Gregory Parish, Samuels, after serving as administrator.
Father Quan Nguyen has been appointed pastor of St. Michael Parish, Fairfield and All Saints Parish, Taylorsville, after serving as administrator.
Father Daniel Whelan has been appointed pastor of St. Augustine Parish, Lebanon and Holy Name of Mary Parish, Calvary, after serving as administrator.
