Transitional Diaconate Ordination of Michael Schultz

Seminarian Michael Schultz will be ordained as a deacon on Saturday, February 18, 2023, 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Assumption. A native of Sibiu, Romania, Michael was adopted by Greg and Kathleen Schultz (née McCarty), on September 14, 1999. He was baptized at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Louisville, Kentucky on October 31, 1999. He has one younger sister, Mallory, and one nephew, Yovanni. Michael grew up at St. Athanasius Parish and attended school there. He attended DeSales High School, graduating in 2016. He then enrolled at Bishop Simon Brute College Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana, graduating with a B.A. in Philosophy in 2020. Michael in now in his third year of studies at St. Mary’s Seminary and University, in Baltimore, Maryland, pursuing a Masters of Divinity and STB in Sacred Theology and a Licentiate (STL) in Liturgical Theology.
