With special gratitude for the heroic efforts of medical workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz and the St. Joseph Guild of the Catholic Medical Association invite healthcare professionals and their families to attend a special Mass on Sunday, October 3, 5:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Assumption (433 South Fifth Street, Louisville).

This Mass, traditionally known as the White Mass because of the white coats that physicians wear, is a Catholic liturgy. Invoking the blessing of Saint Luke, the patron saint of physicians, the Mass gathers doctors, dentists, nurses, psychologists, respiratory and physical therapists, and all who work in healthcare to ask God’s blessing upon those who serve in this profession. A warm invitation is extended to persons of all faiths who serve in the healthcare field.

Healthcare professionals who wear white coats are asked to wear their coats to the Mass. For those unable to attend the Mass in person, the Cathedral will live-stream the Mass. Search Cathedral of the Assumption Louisville, KY on YouTube.
