My Dear Friends in Christ:
May God’s blessings be with you. As your new Archbishop, I am learning about the magnitude and scope of the ministries and services offered throughout the Archdiocese of Louisville. Truly, the Spirit is at work in our Archdiocese.
Serving the needy, proclaiming the Gospel, worshipping and sanctifying are works that Christ has entrusted to his Church. The Catholic Services Appeal is one way in which we unite as a faith community to ensure that this work continues throughout our Archdiocese. The Appeal also offers us an opportunity to demonstrate our gratitude to God by sharing a portion of our blessings in service to others.
Our goal for this year’s Catholic Services Appeal is $3,300,000. I invite you to join with me in continuing Christ’s work by making a gift to this year’s Appeal. Your gift will mean so much to the people, parishes and schools served by our archdiocesan ministries and services.
In closing, I am reminded of the exhortation that St. Peter offers in his first letter, “As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another …” As good stewards of God’s gifts and the work Christ has entrusted to us, may the Spirit continue to fill our hearts and guide our actions.
May God continue to bless you and your loved ones, I am,
Sincerely yours in Christ,

Most Reverend Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D.
Archbishop of Louisville
