All are invited to join Archbishop F abre for the Archdiocesan Corpus Christi Procession on Sunday\, June 11\, 2023 following the 5:30 p.m. Mass at the Cathedral of the Assumption (433 S. Fifth St.). The procession will form outside the Cathedral after Mass\, at approximately 6:45 p.m. We will walk from the Cathedral to the Belvede re (about ½ mile)\, stopping at each cross street for prayer and singing. Gold Mass\, Monday\, Novembe r 27\, 2023: Archbishop Shelton Fabre will preside at the Gold Ma ss\, which honors scientists\, science educators\, and students of science and is open to all who have an interest in the relationship between faith and science. The Mass will be held at 6:00 p.m.\, Holy Family Church (393 8 Poplar Level Road\, Louisville). The Mass will be followed by pizza and a presentation in the Pastoral Center (3940 Poplar Level Road\, right next to the Church.) The presentation will feature Christopher Graney\, astron omer with the Vatican Observatory\, and Tim Tomes\, Archdiocesan Archivist \, who will discuss the recently restored Bouchet Telescope. This 150-year -old telescope belonged to Monsignor Michael Bouchet\, an inventor and vic ar general for the then Diocese of Louisville in the 1870s.

\nPete joins us from Detroit\, Michigan. He is the director of id\, the young adult outreach of Renewal Ministries. A graduate of Fr anciscan University of Steubenville\, he also holds a master’s degree in t heology from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. Pete is a frequent sp eaker on discipleship\, evangelization and young adult topics.
\nHer e’s a brief description of his talk: Jesus wants a deep and life-transform ing relationship with us. He encounters us where we are\, calls us by name \, and teaches us how to live his life. This journey of discipleship is a work of the Holy Spirit and we have an opportunity to listen to and be emp owered by the Spirit. In his talk “Learning to be led by the Spirit”\, Pet e Burak uses Scripture\, stories from his own encounter with Jesus\, his t ime on the Michigan basketball team\, and other engaging and challenging i nsights to help us all grow in our love of the Lord and ability to be his disciple.

Students in grade 8 who wish to atte nd a Catholic high school next year are required to take the Catholic high school placement test. The test is taken at the high school they plan to attend.
\nThe test is scheduled for Saturday\, December 14\, 2024\, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The test is free of charge. Students should b ring two #2 pencils. Extended time may be granted to students with special needs with appropriate documentation sent from the elementary school to t he secondary school. \nA native of Burundi\, Muhoza and his parents moved to Louisv ille in 2014. \nThe Office of Multicultural Ministry \, together with the Archdiocesan Creation Care Team\, will host a Pilgrim age of Hope for Environmental and Racial Justice.
\nThe pilgrimage c ommemorates the 10th Anniversary of Laudato Si’\, the encyclical of Pope F rancis concerning care for creation. During this Jubilee of Hope\, the pil grimage is meant to be a profound spiritual renewal that influences the en vironment\, fostering the restoration of justice and righteousness. This t ransformation is essential for achieving lasting peace\, which is the natu ral outcome of justice\, bringing calm and security to our lives (cf. Isai ah 32:17). The Lord’s assurance that His people will dwell in peaceful and secure places emphasizes the deep connection between human well-being and the health of creation\, illustrating that genuine peace and security ari se when humanity aligns itself with God’s intended design for the earth.\n
The gathering will be held Saturday\, September 6\, at 10 a.m. at C hickasaw Park (1200 Southwestern Parkway) in Louisville. The pilgrimage wi ll begin with a prayer service and presentation about Rubbertown\, an indu strial area in west Louisville. Participants will learn about the decades of air pollution and its disproportionate impact on west Louisville and so uthwestern Jefferson County. Following the presentation\, the participants will walk to the park’s nature play area for prayer and reflection. The p ilgrimage will continue along Southwestern Parkway to West Broadway and co nclude at the Catholic Enrichment Center for closing prayer\, a reception\ , and fellowship.
\n“This pilgrimage unites us in prayer and purpose \,” said M. Annette Mandley-Turner\, director of the Office of Multicultur al Ministry. “As we walk\, we remember neighbors who have suffered from en vironmental harm and reaffirm our call to care for God’s creation and one another.”

The Archdiocese of Louisville is exc ited to announce that it will once again host a Priest Variety Show on Fri day\, January 9\, 2026\, at Saint Xavier High School in the Brown-Forman C ultural Arts Center.
\nThe event will kick off with a reception at 6 :00 p.m. where guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while enjoyi ng the opportunity to view some of our talented priest’s artwork and writi ngs. Live music will be performed during the reception by one of our favo rite priests and his band. The talent show will begin promptly at 7:00 p. m.
\nProceeds from the upcoming show will benefit the Seminarian Edu cation Fund for the Archdiocese of Louisville.
