With all the negative publicity surrounding authority figures in the Catholic Church today, many people are unclear about the role of the pope and the bishops within the life of the Church.  This class will explore the origins of the episcopacy as it evolved from the words of Jesus Christ, the historical evolution of its authority, and its importance in the Church today.  Catholic school teachers and parish catechists will also be given suggestions for how they can introduce and explore these important leadership positions with their students.
