This is an interactive seminar demonstrating how pastors and ministry leaders can energize congregational generosity.  Interactive segments will explore theology, adaptive leadership, fiscal transparency, and donor care.  The seminar’s goal is to help you build a culture of generosity unique to your congregation’s needs and challenges.  Topics covered: landscape of religious giving; generosity toolkit; donor sensitivity; roots of generosity; and plans for nurturing generosity.

Presenter David P. King is the Karen Lake Buttrey Director of Lake Institute on Faith & Giving as well as Assistant Professor of Philanthropic Studies within the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. He earned his Ph.D. from Emory University with a specific interest in American religious history and its intersections with the growing field of world Christianity. His recent research focuses on the rise of evangelical relief and development NGOs, religious humanitarianism, and religion’s engagement with international affairs.
