Winks From God

I like to share good news.  Below is a letter that movingly describes how things we do every day – a friendly greeting or a hospital visit from a pastor – can make a big difference in the lives of the people we serve and encounter.   This writer describes these kind gestures with the wonderful image of a “wink from God.” I think you will enjoy her note:

Dear Archbishop Kurtz:

Happy New Year! I just wanted to write you a […]

Giving It Up for Lent

Want to learn everything possible about the season of Lent and much more?  Take the time to review this Lent-special web site prepared by the archdiocesan Office of Evangelization (thanks, Sal Della Bella).   I just saw it this morning and was delighted by the format.

Go Forth

csmg-logo-2015Since Sunday, more than 500 Catholics leaders have gathered in Washington, DC at the Catholic Social Ministry Gathering to pray, study and celebrate the Eucharist together.  This morning I gave the concluding homily and blessed these leaders as they travel to Capitol Hill to visit legislators and share a vision of society grounded in justice, fairness, respect for the human person,  and solidarity.  Here is the homily:

Last month at the Right to Life March, […]
