Couples Celebrate a Combined Total of 6,646 Year of Marriage
October 26, 2015 (Louisville, Ky.) – Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D. is celebrating the annual Wedding Anniversary Mass on Sunday, November 1, 2:00 p.m., at the Cathedral of the Assumption, 433 South Fifth Street.
This event honors 136 couples celebrating their 30, 40, 50, and 60+ wedding anniversaries. The anniversary breakdown is:

Lessons from the Synod: Mission of Families Flows from the Tenderness of God
Three weeks of prayer, discussion, revisions, and final recommendations to Pope Francis on the vocation and mission of the family today have now reached a completion. Thanks for all your prayers and support. It will be good to get home. I pray that our efforts inspired by the work of the Holy Spirit will be a contribution to the pastoral life of the family and of the Church, a family of families.

Four Archdiocese of Louisville Catholic Elementary Schools Win Blue Ribbon Awards
Today, the United States Department of Education announced that four Archdiocese of Louisville Catholic elementary schools have been named 2015 Blue Ribbon Schools. Two schools, St. Gabriel School (5503 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Ky.) and St. Mary Academy (11311 St. Mary Lane, Prospect, Ky.) will be recognized for the first time. Teaching Virtue Through Sports
This summer I participated in a “rosary rally” for local sports teams at St. Patrick Parish. The rally was organized by a group called SportsLeader, which is national training program for coaches focused on teaching virtue. Registration for Catholic Women’s Conference now open
Registration for the Archdiocese of Louisville’s first Catholic Women’s Conference is now underway. The conference will take place Nov. 7 at St. Patrick Church, 1000 N. Beckley Station Road, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Check-in and continental breakfast will start at 7:30 a.m.
