Catholic Secondary School Class of 2013 Receive Record Number of Scholarships

June 28, 2013 The 1,468 seniors who graduated from the 9 Catholic secondary schools in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville received a record $115.3 million in scholarships to colleges, universities, vocational, or business schools. This figure does not include grants or Kentucky Educational Excellence (KEES) scholarship money; these seniors received more than $7 million in KEES grants. St. Nicholas Academy Students Excel In Competition

(Louisville, Ky.) Two students representing St. Nicholas Academy (5501 New Cut Road) recently received a perfect score in the last of three meets for this year’s WordMasters Challenge™—a national vocabulary competition involving nearly 150,000 students annually.

Competing in the difficult Blue Division of the WordMasters Challenge™, fourth grader Grace Medley and fifth grader Shannon Nguyen earned a perfect score of 20 in the recent meet. Nationally, only 55 fourth graders and 144 fifth graders achieved a perfect score. Other […]

The Gift of Our Priests

Last month I joined with priests of the Archdiocese to celebrate a wonderful Jubilee Mass, followed by an enjoyable meal.
