A Charismatic Mass will be celebrated by Father William Hammer Sept. 10 at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral, 110 N. Fifth St., Bardstown, Ky. Praise music will begin at 7 p.m. before Mass. There will be an opportunity for personal prayer and witnessing after the liturgy.
A special Mass to honor and to thank those who work in public service, health care, law, governance and the military will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 5505 New Cut Road. The Mass, sponsored by Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Thomas More churches, will be followed by an informal dinner provided by the Knights of Columbus.
Those invited to the celebration include police officers, firefighters, military personnel, doctors, nurses, paramedics, attorneys, judges and elected officials.
Two Hearts devotion (Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary) will be held Sept. 3-4 at St. Martin of Tours Church, 639 S. Shelby St., beginning with confessions from 5 to 6 p.m. and Mass at 6 p.m. on Sept. 3. The schedule includes exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, rosary, Benediction and a midnight Mass. Two concerts are planned at the Loretto Motherhouse in Nerinx, Ky.:

- A concert featuring violinist J. Patrick Rafferty and pianist James Howsman will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 9.

The Holy Name Band is seeking percussion, woodwind and brass players to fill openings for the fall and Christmas season.
