Sister Mary David Thomas, OSUMSJ
Mount St. Joseph Ursuline Sister Mary David Thomas died Oct. 3 at Mount St. Joseph in Maple Mount, Ky. She was 97 and was in the 79th year of religious life.
Sister Thomas, who grew up in Marion County, Ky., was an educator for 49 years. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at St. Martin of Tours School, Flaherty (1930), St. Paul School, Louisville (1936-38), St. Brigid School, Vine Grove (1942-43), Holy Trinity School, Fredericktown (1943-45), Holy Cross School, Holy Cross, Ky. (1948-52), St. Bernard School, Clementsville (1955-58), St. Joseph School, Raywick (1963-66), St. Charles School, Lebanon (1967-70), and Marion County High School, Lebanon (1970-75).
She also ministered in health care at St. Francis Convent, St. Francis, Ky., from 1982-83.
Survivors include nieces and nephews and the members of her religious community.
The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Oct. 5 at Mount St. Joseph.
