Sister Agnes Martha Holbrook, SCN - July 1, 2007

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Agnes Martha Holbrook died July 1 at Nazareth Home in Louisville. She was 91 and had been an SCN for 65 years.

A native of Van Lear, Ky., Sister Holbrook served in the apostolate of health care as a registered nurse in Kentucky, Ohio and Alabama. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she served in nursing service at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital, Louisville, from 1951-52; Nazareth Infirmary, Nazareth, Ky., from 1952-54; and at Nazareth Home as coordinator of patient care from 1976-1990. She served in the apostolate of prayer from 1990-2000.

Survivors include two sisters, Mollie Griffith of Winchester, Ky., and Blanche Blanton of Paintsville, Ky.; and sisters in the SCN congregation. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 3 at Nazareth Home. Burial was in the Nazareth Cemetery, Nazareth, Ky.
