Sister of Benedict of Ferdinand, Ind., Mary Joyce Trimble, a teacher assistant at Sacred Heart Model School, died May 17 at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. She was 65 and had been a Benedictine for 48 years.

Sister Trimble was a teacher for more than 40 years. Before coming to Sacred Heart Model School in 1999, she taught at schools in Southern Indiana. She also was a member of Stillpoint, the Ferdinand monastery's music group that performs and records sacred music.A native of Vincennes, Ind., she entered the Benedictine community in Ferdinand in 1959, made her first profession of vows in 1961 and her final profession in 1966. 

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 21 at Monastery Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand. Burial was in the monastery cemetery.
