Dominican Sister Catherine Roby died May 14 at Sansbury Care Center at the St. Catharine Motherhouse near Springfield, Ky. She was 84 and had been a Dominican for 64 years.

A native of Bardstown, Ky., Sister Roby was a teacher and principal in Kentucky, Nebraska and Illinois. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she served at Holy Rosary Academy and at St. Louis Bertrand, Holy Spirit and SS. Simon and Jude in Louisville; St. Dominic in Springfield and St. Thomas in Bardstown. She also was a supervisor for the archdiocese. Survivors include a sister, Mary Shields of Lake Providence, La., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 18 in Sansbury Chapel.
