Obituary - Sister Anna Mae Johnston, OSU

Louisville Ursuline Sister Anna Mae Johnston, formerly Sister Leoba, died May 7 at Marian Home in Louisville. She was 84 and had been an Ursuline Sister since 1942.

Sister Johnston was a speech pathologist and served at the Ursuline Speech Clinic from 1977 to 1996. She also served with Easter Seals of Louisville, the Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs, the Louisville Board of Education and Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital. Sister Johnston also served as a teacher in Nebraska and in Louisville. Locals schools where she taught included St. Therese, St. Boniface, Holy Trinity, Holy Spirit, St. Rita and Our Mother of Sorrows.

Survivors include two sisters, Rita Howell and Mary Hibbs, both of Louisville; nieces and nephews; and her Ursuline family. The Mass of Christian Burial was May 10 in the Ursuline Motherhouse; burial was in St. Michael Cemetery.
