Sister Mary Ethelreda Hayden, OSUMSJ - February 25

Ursuline Sister of Mount St. Joseph Mary Ethelreda Hayden, a retired educator, died Feb. 25 at Mount St. Joseph in Maple Mount, Ky. She was 91 and was in her 73rd year of religious life.

A native of Fancy Farm, Ky., her ministry in the Archdiocese of Louisville included St. Charles Convent, Lebanon, Ky. (1936-38, 1951-52); St. Catherine Convent, New Haven, Ky. (1939-47); St. Columba Convent, Louisville (1950-51); St. Bartholomew School, Louisville (1963-69); and St. Bernard School, Clementsville, Ky. (1970-71). She also ministered in the Diocese of Owensboro, Ky., and in Missouri, Nebraska and New Mexico.

Survivors include two sisters, Frances Goode of Paducah and Mary Elizabeth Willett of Boaz; nieces and nephews; and the members of her religious community. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 27 at Mount St. Joseph.
