Sister Mary Quentin Barth, RSM - January 19

Sister of Mercy Mary Quentin Barth died Jan. 19 at St. Catherine Convent in Louisville. She has been a Sister of Mercy for 58 years.

Sister Barth taught at St. William and St. Paul Schools in Louisville and was principal at St. Charles Borromeo, Our Lady of Consolation and Holy Cross schools. She also taught in Columbus, Ohio, and Toledo, Ohio.

Sister Barth served on the provincial council and as area coordinator for Kentucky from 1972 to 1978. She also was coordinator of St. Catherine Convent for 27 years.

Survivors include two brothers, Albert T. (Dorothy) Barth and Alvin C. (Dolores) Barth; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews and her Mercy family. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 24 at St. Brigid Church. Internment was at Calvary Cemetery.
