Dominican Sister Catharine Gallagher died Feb. 29 at Sansbury Care Center at the St. Catharine Motherhouse near Springfield, Ky. She was 96 and had been a Dominican of St. Cartharine for 48 years.
Sister Gallagher, a native of Bridgeport, Conn., had served as a high school teacher and librarian in Indiana, Illinois, Nebraska and Massachusetts.
Survivors include a brother-in-law, William J. Buckley of Fairfield, Conn.; three nephews, William J. Buckley Jr. of Orlando, Fla., Dennis J. Buckley of Bridgeport, Conn., and Bryan J. Buckley of Trumbull Conn.; and three nieces, Barbara B. Andrew of Bridgeport, Conn., Catharine B. Dolan of Carmel, Ind., and Maureen B. Del Bene Fairfield, Conn.
The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 5 at Sansbury Care Center Chapel. Burial was in the St. Catharine Motherhouse cemetery.
