Sister of Charity of Nazareth Alberta Hoffer, formerly Sister Ann Marita Hoffer, died Feb. 26 at Nazareth Home in Louisville. She was 90 and had been an SCN for 65 years.

A native of Covington, Ky., Sister Hoffer served in elementary education as a teacher and principal in Kentucky and Tennessee for 24 years. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at St. John School, was a teacher and principal at the old St. Patrick School and was principal at St. Gabriel School.

She also was manager of Catherine Spalding Bookstore at Nazareth, Ky., from 1981-88 and served in spiritual direction at Moye Spiritual Life Center, Melbourne, Ky., from 1988-89.

Survivors include cousins, friends, former students and sisters in the SCN congregation.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 29 at St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, Ky. Burial was in Nazareth Cemetery.
