Sister Julia Dullea, SCN - November 28

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Julia Dullea, formerly Sister Margaret Celine Dullea, died Nov. 28 at Nazareth Home in Louisville. She was 91 and had been an SCN for 74 years.

Sister Dullea, a native of Boston, Mass., served in the apostolate of education on the elementary, secondary and college levels in Kentucky, Tennessee and Massachusetts. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she was a teacher at St. Patrick, St. John and Most Blessed Sacrament schools in Louisville from 1936-46. She also was an instructor in French at Nazareth College, Nazareth, Ky., from 1964-66; SCN formation director and part-time college instructor from 1966-68; and a full-time college instructor in French from 1968-69.

Survivors include two sisters, Sisters of Charity of Nazareth Mary Dullea and Phyllis Dullea, who reside at O’Connell Hall, Nazareth, and other relatives, friends, former students and sisters in the SCN congregation.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 4 at St. Vincent Church, Nazareth. Burial was in Nazareth Cemetery.
