Sister Agnes Jude Thornberry, SCN - November 21

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Agnes Jude Thornberry died November 21 at Nazareth Home in Louisville. She was 97 and had been an SCN for 69 years.

A native of Glendale, Kentucky, Sister Thornberry served in community service and elementary education in Kentucky and Maryland for 44 years. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at Holy Family, St. Frances of Rome and St. Barnabas schools. She became a resident at the Nazareth Motherhouse in 1984 and went to Nazareth Home/Maria Hall in 1996.

Survivors include a brother, Jerry Thornberry, and a sister-in-law, Dolores Thornberry, both of Louisville, and sisters in the SCN congregation. The Mass of Burial was celebrated November 26 at Nazareth Home. Burial was in the Nazareth Cemetery.
