Saint Nicholas Academy (5501 New Cut Road) fourth-grade students have invited Susie Tillman, author of A Kentucky Dream and grandparent of fourth-grader Jonas Vance, to present a brief overview of her book and explain how to write and publish a book. Ms. Tillman will present to the students on Thursday, February 4 at 1:30 p.m.
A Kentucky Dream is a 2008 children’s book about the horse farm industry and a young girl’s love of horses. The St. Nicholas fourth-graders are preparing to compete in the Young Authors contest.

Ascension Students Learn Acting Skills
Beginning on February 16, Ascension Catholic School (4600 Lynnbrook Drive) students in grades 6, 7 and 8 will be working with a professional actor, Lucas Adams from Stage One, to learn the elements of acting, public speaking and drama. Mr. Adams will be meeting with students on Tuesdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. for 10 weeks through April 27. This experience will culminate in the spring production of 101 Dalmatians on May 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. in the Ascension gym. This experience is made possible by a PNC/Fund for the Arts Teacher Arts Grant.
