Holy Trinity Holds Community Celebration for Blue Ribbon School Award

(Louisville, KY) Last week, the United States Department of Education announced that Holy Trinity Parish School, 423 Cherrywood Road, has been named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. Holy Spirit School, 3345 Lexington Road, also was named as a blue ribbon school.

To celebrate this honor, Holy Trinity will hold a community celebration on Tuesday, October 16. Students clad in blue ribbon t-shirts will be participating in fun events during the day (beginning at 8:15 a.m.) to celebrate the award. The formal ceremony will begin at 1:45 p.m. and will conclude at 2:30 p.m. with a reception. Featured speakers include Superintendent of Catholic Schools Leisa Speer and Chief Education Officer Fr. Joe Atcher.

The No Child Left Behind – Blue Ribbon School Program honors public and private K-12 schools that are either academically superior in their states or that demonstrate dramatic gains in student achievement. Holy Trinity was recognized for having certain test scores in the top 10% of the nation as well as for curriculum initiatives in writing, critical thinking and differentiated instruction. 744 students in grades K-8 attend the school.
