St. Leonard Students Raise Money for Kosair Children’s Hospital
(Louisville, Kentucky) This week, students at St. Leonard School (440 Zorn Avenue) have been raising money for Kosair Children’s Hospital through a “St. Xavier/Trinity Penny War.” This contest will conclude on Friday, September 28, when students will be allowed to wear St. Xavier or Trinity t-shirts to school.
The second grade class, led by Mrs. Amy Harley, is overseeing this service project in preparation for the students’ First Reconciliation in November. It also coincides with the second grade class' math chapter on money.
Students in grades K-8 have been bringing in pennies all week for either St. Xavier or Trinity in anticipation of the St. Xavier versus Trinity football game to be played on Friday, and the second-graders are counting the coins each day. Bluegrass Family Health has agreed to match all donations during the week.
