20th African American Catholic Leadership Awards Banquet

(Louisville, Kentucky) The Office of Multicultural Ministry of the Archdiocese of Louisville will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the African American Catholic Leadership Awards Banquet. This event will take place on Saturday, March 3, 2007, 6:00 p.m. at the Executive West Hotel, 830 Phillips Lane, Louisville, KY 40209. A silent auction will start at 5:00 p.m. The Jerry Tolson Quartet will provide entertainment.

The purpose of this banquet is to recognize African American Catholic leadership within the Archdiocese of Louisville. All proceeds from this event will go towards the scholarship fund that assists African American Catholic youth with secondary and post-secondary education. Eight youth scholarships will be given to young men and women who have demonstrated leadership in their church and school communities. Thirteen adults will be recognized for their leadership in the African American Catholic community. Two businesses, Matly Digital Solutions and Republic Bank, and two individuals, Honorable Romano Mazzoli and Sr. Patricia Haley, SCN, will be awarded the highest honor, the Acacia Award, for their many years of continued support to the Office of Multicultural Ministry and the Archdiocese.

The guest speaker is Kevin E. Lofton, president and chief executive officer, Catholic Health Initiatives, Denver, Colorado.
