ST. ATHANASIUS HOSTS VISITORS TO PROMOTE SUCCESS AND READING
On Tuesday, October 25, Leigh Anne Florence, author of the Woody the Kentucky weiner dog books, will visit St. Athanasius School (5915 Outer Loop) from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30. Ms. Florence, along with Woody and his friend Chloe, will talk to students in grades 3-6 about how to be successful.
On Tuesday, November 8, celebrity readers will visit St. Athanasius School from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. to read to students in celebration of National Young Readers Day. Among the celebrities visiting will be Dawne Gee, Rick Van Hoose, Superintendent of Catholic Schools Leisa Speer, and State Representative Larry Clark. These adults will be joined by student readers from area Catholic high schools.

ST. JAMES 3rd/4th GRADERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
On Saturday October 22, 3rd and 4th graders from St. James School (1818 Edenside Avenue) will learn about service and clean up the neighborhood. Students will gather at the school at 9:00 and work until noon picking up trash around the parish and Tyler Park.
On Tuesday, November 1, the 3rd and 4th grades will dress as saints and present reports on their saints for the celebration of All Saints Day. Students will march into Church at 8:15 a.m. and then march around Bardstown Road and back into the school at about 9:20 a.m.
